About Automatic Gainsay:

Automatic Gainsay was formed in a bandroom in 2003. Embracing a low-fi aesthetic coupled with a retro sensibility, Automatic Gainsay seeks to generate traditional pop in a semi-traditional way.

Automatic Gainsay is a band in name, but is largely the writing, performance, and recording of Marc Doty. Marc has been writing since the age of 9 and producing since the age of 16.

Contributors and at the very least, honorary Automatic Gainsay members include Klayton Giese (some guitar and bass on such songs as Caroline's Pink Umbrella and Anthem), Pat Simmons (drums on songs such as Mine and Caroline's Pink Umbrella), and Caroline (occasional lyrics and voice).
