Great Stalinís Ghost! performs for SiDEKiCK Podcast
If the SiDEKiCK still picked out the ďBest Band NameĒ for each issue, Great Stalinís Ghost! would undoubtedly be our winner. This three-piece rock band from Moscow, Idaho not only has a great name, but the talent and energy to back it up. We were able to coax the band into Audio Jerk Recordís new studio in the Spokane Valley for the 3rd installment of The SiDESHOW, our brand new video podcast. Check it out now by going to www.spokanesidekick.com and selecting ďSiDESHOWĒ from the side navigation bar.
For those who prefer live music, Great Stalinís Ghost will be playing with Black & Tann on Saturday, June 1st at The Comet Bar (5028 N. Market St) in Hillyard. This 21 and older show gets under way at 8 p.m. There is no cover for this show.
Great Stalinís Ghost! is comprised of Dave Park on guitar and vocals, Chris Crozier on bass, and Kevin Kovalcik on drums. The band has a straight up rock and roll sound that is simply catchy and decisively enjoyable. They donít reinvent the wheel, but they do a great job of greasing the axel and letting the baby spin.
Great Stalinís Ghost! is currently working with Aaron Birdsall of Audio Jerk Records to craft an album that will be released under the label. The band entered the studio with 25 songs and are working on pairing it down to the very best. Audio Jerk Records is currently accepting other unsolicited material. For more information call the studio at (509) 232-6794.
For those unfamiliar with The SiDESHOW, it is the brand-new video podcast created by the SiDEKiCK and Audio Jerk Records. Every issue we invite one band into the studio to record a song that we shoot and post online at www.spokanesidekick.com. The video is viewable either straight from any QuickTime enabled web browser or via download through iTunes. A high-bandwidth connection is highly recommended. Our archive currently houses performances by Black & Tann and Smile Line Spark. While we record predominantly in the studio, the SiDESHOW does venture out to local venues to record actual live performances. The first of these will take place on Friday, June 8th at The Blvd with the help of Mistress & the Misters. For more information on this show turn to page 6 of this issue.
