EMIC EP (2007)
Mistress & The Misters

1. Bone to Pick
2. Mute
3. Neck Romancing
4. Consuela
5. Bill and the Hill Sisters

Mistress and the Misters’ sophomore kick in the rear is finally here – well, it’s to be released at their June 8th show with the return of their even madder Seattle sisters in Iceage Cobra – but they leaked the 5 new tracks to me early, so I was one lucky little mistress who got to dance to them before anyone else. If you’re an old ‘Misters fan who remembers seeing them every other weekend setting fire to a “Conflagration” in a random dirty bar, you’d love “Neck Romancing,” which is reminiscent of their “One Eye” beginnings with grimy chords alongside quick mantra shouts. I, however, prefer to shake my butt to “Mute” and “Consuela,” their new evolution into *gasp* slower songs (but slow, in Mistress and the Misters terms, means the tempo cranked up 5 times faster than the normal rate as opposed to, say, 50). The four tracks surrounding “Neck Romancing” express a new frustrated passion blowing out of the awesome synergy between these four startling Misters, and with this new EP added onto the old “Conflagration” songs, they are without a doubt the most crazy ass motherf#%$ers you’ll ever see owning a stage. I finally got to experience them a couple weeks ago, and I’m still fatally recovering. Enter the Blvd at your own risk, kids.
